Marcel Breuer

Marcel Breuer

That Marcel Breuer would become one of the great creative architects of the century was already understood in the 1920s, when, at the age of 32, he was studying in the carpentry of the Bauhaus.
From 1925 to 28 he headed the carpentry class.

His first chairs in tubular steel are from this period and also his first furnishings: the houses of the Bauhaus masters, Herwin Piscator's Berlin apartment.

In Cambridge he had a studio with Walter Gropius and for 9 years he was professor of architecture at "Harward University".
